Biography

The Catalan Company was a group of light infantry soldiers led by Roger de Flor. The soldiers were Aragonese and Catalan mercenaries called Almogavars. Roger led the Company to Constantinople to assist the Greeks in fighting against the Turks.

During the time period from 1308 to 1315, he was the governor of Djerba after the Crown of Aragon conquered the island.

Ramon Muntaner's Crònica is one of the four major Catalan Grand Chronicles that help historians understand military and political events in the Crown of Aragon and the Principality of Catalonia during the 13th and 14th centuries.

He died in Ibiza in 1336.
