The PEN Award for Poetry in Translation is given by PEN America (formerly PEN American Center) to recognize a poetry translation published in the previous year. This award should not be confused with the PEN Translation Prize. It is one of many awards supported by International PEN in more than 145 PEN centers worldwide. The awards given by PEN American Center are considered some of the most important American literary prizes. The PEN Award for Poetry in Translation has been described as one of the most notable translation awards.

Guidelines

The $3,000 award is given to a full book of translated poetry in English that was published in the United States the year before. Up to two people can work together on the book. Anyone from any country can be a translator.
