The Chief Minister's Northern Territory History Book Award is the top prize for books about the history of the Northern Territory. It is given to the best works that focus on this region's past.
Establishment
The award started in 2004. It was created to recognize achievements in writing, research, and creativity by Australian authors and to encourage people to record the history of the Northern Territory. The first winner was Dr. David Bridgman for his book Acclimatisation: architecture at the Top End of Australia. The award is managed by the Northern Territory Library.
