His most famous book is De komst van Joachim Stiller (The Coming of Joachim Stiller, 1960). In this book, a mysterious character named Joachim Stiller appears as a savior, similar to how Jesus is portrayed in religious stories. Other themes in Lampo's work include stories about Orpheus, Atlantis, and the Holy Grail.
