The Aspekte-Literaturpreis (Aspekte Literature Prize) is given every year to the best first novel written in German. A group of writers, critics, and scholars chooses the winner. The prize is supported by the ZDF TV network's arts program, Aspekte. It is worth 10,000 Euros. People who have won in the past include Felicitas Hoppe, who has won the Georg Büchner Prize, and Herta Müller, who has won the Nobel Prize. The award was started in 1979.
