In speech and writing, epizeuxis, also called palilogia, is the repetition of a word or phrase right after each other in the same sentence. This is done to show strong feeling or to emphasize a point. A similar technique is diacope, where a word is repeated with one or a few words in between. Epizeuxis is used to make an emotional connection with the audience, which can inspire or motivate them. It can also be used to create humor.
