The Outstanding Latino/a Cultural Award in Literary Arts or Publications is one of many awards given by the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education, Inc. (AAHHE). This award is also supported by AT&T. It is given to Latinas/os who have made important contributions to the understanding of Hispanic communities and cultures through their writing, academic work, and other published materials.
The award is given each year based on the author’s work in fiction, non-fiction, and/or newspaper editing. Anyone can nominate a person for the award, but the winners are chosen by a group of AAHHE Board members. Winners are honored at the Annual AAHHE National Conference.
