The OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature was started in 2011 by the NGC Bocas Lit Fest. It is an annual award given to books written by Caribbean authors and published in the year before the award. This prize is the only one in the region that allows entries from any literary genre, including books written by people born in or citizens of the Caribbean.

The prize is supported by One Caribbean Media Ltd (OCM). The overall winner receives US$10,000, and each book shortlisted for the prize gets $3,000. Books can be entered in three categories: poetry, fiction, and literary non-fiction.

For each category, a group of three judges selects the best book. These three books are chosen as finalists for the prize. The overall winner is then selected by a group of four judges, which includes the heads of each category group and the prize’s chief judge.

The overall winner is announced at the NGC Bocas Lit Fest in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
