The National Outdoor Book Award (NOBA) was created in 1997 as a non-profit program in the United States. Each year, it gives awards to recognize the best books and publications about outdoor activities. The program is located at Idaho State University and is led by Ron Watters. It is supported by the National Outdoor Book Awards Foundation, Idaho State University, and the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education. As of 2021, awards are given in 13 categories, though not all categories are awarded every year.

The awards are announced in early November each year. Books that win are promoted across the country and may display the National Outdoor Book Award gold medallion.
