The Premio Aztlán Literary Prize is a national award for new Chicana and Chicano writers. It was started in 1993 by Rudolfo and Patricia Anaya. At first, the University of New Mexico supported the award, but in 2008, the National Hispanic Cultural Center took over the support.

The prize is given only to short story collections and novels (not children's or young adult books) that were published by a professional publisher in the previous year. The author must still be alive and must have published no more than two books. The winner receives $1,000 and gives a speech at the National Latino Writers Conference that year.
