The Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) is a group that represents companies responsible for managing air traffic. These companies, called air navigation service providers (ANSPs), help control the movement of airplanes around the world. CANSO members support more than 85% of global air traffic. They work together in groups to share information and create new rules to improve how air traffic is managed on the ground and in the sky. CANSO also speaks for its members in important meetings, such as those held by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), where it has a special role as an observer.

Anyone who is an ANSP can join CANSO, even if they work within government systems. Members who are part of government groups can sign a statement that clearly states CANSO does not act on behalf of their country’s government.

CANSO also has a type of membership for companies and groups in the aviation industry that help provide air traffic services. These members can connect with other professionals and leaders in the field. They may also help CANSO with its projects to improve air navigation services.

CANSO is part of the Air Transport Action Group (ATAG).
