The Willis Barnstone Translation Prize is an annual award given for an outstanding translation of a poem from any language into English. The prize was started in 2002 by the University of Evansville and has been given every year since 2003. The award honors Willis Barnstone, a well-known poet and translator, and he has judged the contest each year. The prize includes a cash award of USD $1,000, and the winning poem or poems are published in The Evansville Review. After Dr. William Baer retired in 2015, Dr. Tiffany Griffith, a professor at the University of Evansville, became the director of the competition.
